"THANK YOU to the media" is the message from Northern Constabulary after extensive reporting of bank scams across the Highlands and Islands.
Constable Craig Dale, Community Safety Officer says:
"We have received increasing reports from members of the public, who have been telephoned and have refused to give personal details due to increased awareness through the media, about the banking scams which are taking place in this area. This is very encouraging, but we still want people to report suspicious calls of this nature. People should contact their local police station or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
He added:
"I am very grateful to the media for assisting us to highlight awareness of this criminal activity."
