About 2010 hours on Saturday, 15 November 2008, a one vehicle serious road traffic collision occurred on the B895 Newmarket to North Tolsta Road at Tong, Isle of Lewis, whereby a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was transferred to the Western Isles Hospital where his condition remains serious but stable. Details of the pedestrian are not being released at this time.
The driver of the vehicle did not require any medical attention.
Police in Stornoway are appealing for witnesses to the accident or any witnesses who may have seen a pedestrian walking on the B895 at Tong, prior to collision.
